Food Not Bombs Las Vegas held our weekly Free Picnic in the Park at Baker Park on February 21st from 10:00am to 11:30am. We had rice, beans, salad, potatoes, salad and fruit for the main course, with juice and fruit punch to drink. Daniel brought juice and donuts and Sean brought juice; everything else was yet again courtesy of Gail.
About 20 people joined in the meal this week. Food Not Bombs organizers Daniel, Brian and Sean were there. The sun was out and, though the wind threatened to blow us away early in the morning, things calmed down by about 11pm, and it turned out to be really nice. We talked about community organizing and how budget cuts might affect homeles and other services, and tried to be as productive as we could be.
See you at the park next week!

Food Not Bombs Las Vegas held our weekly Free Picnic in the Park at Baker Park on March 4th from 10:30am to 12pm. We had rice, beans, Oriental noodles, potatoes and salad for the main course, with various juices and fruit punch to drink. Daniel and Sean brought juice, Charles brought taters and onions and Gail whipped up everything else
It was cold, windy, cloudy and just generally miserable. But we persevered. About 15 people joined in the meal this week. Food Not Bombs organizers Charles, Kelly, Daniel and Sean were there. We talked about plans for upcoming events. The pavilion at Baker park also held host to a meeting of CopWatch. All things considered, a great day was had by all.
See you all this weekend!

It was a beautiful day out but a small group. About 15 people joined in the meal this week. Food Not Bombs organizers Charles, Kelly, Daniel, Nick, Vanessa, and Gail were there. It was beautiful and warm as long as the sun stayed out, but with a wind that kept blowing around our utensils. Dogs were walked; we talked about plans for upcoming events; and had a great day in the sun.
See you all this weekend!

About 30 people joined in the meal this week. Food Not Bombs organizers Charles, Kelly, Sean, Kaleb, Irina, Joanna and Nick were there. It was cold with the wind, which threatened to blow us into Arizona a few times. But we persevered, threw around the football, listened to some music and talked about community organizing. Hope the weather gets better, and see you at the park next week!

Food Not Bombs Las Vegas held our weekly Free Picnic in the Park at Baker Park on February 14th from 10:30am to 12pm. We had a big mess of rice, beans, vegetable soup, homestyle potatoes, salad, chili peppers (that some of us mistook for okra, with comical results), bananas, banana bread and apples for the main course, with orange juice, citrus punch, and fruit punch to drink.
About 25 people joined in the meal this week. Food Not Bombs organizers Charles, Kelly, Sean and Daniel were there. The lousy weather finally broke this weekend, and it was sunny and fairly warm. Everyone had a chance to kick back to some good tunes brought by Charles. Hope the weather holds, and see you at the park next week!

It was cold outside, but warmed up a bit as the day wore on. Some people came for some hot food and left as soon as they were done. Others hung out for a bit. About 20 to 25 people joined in the meal this week. Food Not Bombs organizers Charles and Kelly were there, as were Gail, Daniel and Sean.
