Aug 5, 2009: Vegas Food Not Bombs online

One of the things that we’re doing this year in Food Not Bombs Las Vegas is trying to update and expand our Internet presence, to make it easier for people in Vegas to get in touch or get involved, to connect with fellow FNB organizers from around the world, and to help everyone stay in touch and have some fun together. With that in mind, you might want to check out a few of the resources we’ve set up for communication and social networking here in Vegas:

  • If you support Food Not Bombs and use Twitter, you can follow @foodnotbombslv.
  • For those who prefer e-mail, we have our FoodNotBombsLasVegas YahooGroups e-mail list, which allows you to easily get in touch with fellow Food Not Bombers through e-mail for business  or conversation, to talk about possible opportunities for FNB in Vegas, and to get reminders about upcoming events.
How much does that cover? If there’s other things we could be doing online that would make it easier for you to get updated, get enthusiastic, and get involved with Food Not Bombs in Las Vegas, use the comments form or contact us privately to let us know what you’d like to see!

Aug 4, 2009: Sunday picnic in the park 2 August 2009

Food Not Bombs Las Vegas shared food at our weekly Picnic in the Park at Baker Park from 10:00am to 12:00pm. We had water, juice, chili, rice, vegetable soup, salad and banana bread.

This week was a quiet one: perhaps due to the heat, and since it’s the beginning of the month, about 12 people showed up to join in the meal. Happily, veteran Food Not Bombs organizers Charles and Daniel both returned this week after long trips out of town. Charles brought music, water, and Food Not Bombs literature. Daniel brought juice. Welcome back!

Hope to see you all at the park next week!
